Sharing Hokkaido’s Nature with the World

We used to backcountry privately and only casually do tours.
Now we wanted to share the experience of boarding in the wonderful environment that our land has to offer.
That is why we founded the “Noborikaeshi Powder Guide Club”.
Let’s enjoy the wonders of Hokkaido together!

Despite many years of gaining experience and knowledge as a snowboard instructor, in Ashidake, I came across snow conditions in which I couldn’t even breathe in. That was when I decided that I wanted to further pursue backcountry snowboarding.
I enjoy hiking through tall and huge mountains, as well as local mountain trails as well. I spend the winter season determining whether mountain conditions are good or not.
In the summer, I am the CEO of a construction company.

I have gained experience in snowboarding in the ski area for about 20years. In 2009, I began to pursue backcountry snowboarding seriously. Since then, I have hiked multiple trails, experienced various snow conditions, and navigated different terrains.
I have always enjoyed traveling, so in 2014, I began a cycling trip to build endurance and strength for backcountry. By2019, I have biked through various countries including Thailand,Laos,Cambodia,Vietnam,India,Myanmar,Taiwan,Singapore, and Malaysia.

As the oldest member of the Noborikaeshi Club, I am the strongest snowplowing man! Despite starting snowboarding in my 50s, which is quite late, my passion for the sport has allowed me to build up my career in backcountry snowboarding.
I often go running in the summer, but you can even find me running on snow. I participate in a couple of marathons a year, and not only do I successfully cross the finish line, but I have also placed top runner in my age group. I enjoy cycling in the summer and have biked through Taiwan twice.

Many people might know me as Shige, owner of a soup curry restaurant in Sapporo, but my real identity is a powder nomad.
In the summer, you will usually find me doing SUP. In the winter, however, you’ll find me backcountry skiing and snowboarding all around Hokkaido, while traveling long distances by car. Everyone calls me powder nomad because of how spontaneous I am, but also because I can smell sometimes. Recently, I’ve been using a long board of about 2m60cm and riding through central and northern Hokkaido.
